We’ve raised meat rabbits off and on for over five years. We’ve worked with everything from mixed-breed rabbits to pedigrees with fancy titles, and no matter what we’re raising at the time, rabbits are always on my mind. Even when we weren’t raising them, I was researching how to raise meat rabbits more self-sufficiently. I love diving into different breeds, exploring their nutritional needs, learn about common diseases and how to treat them. Honestly, homesteading and raising livestock is my calling in life—it brings me happiness and joy just talking about it!
Being 100% self-sufficient may not be possible for everyone, but my goal is to get as close as possible and help others do the same. By the time I retire, I want to own my property outright and run as self-sufficiently as possible. I believe this is achievable for anyone, as long as you have the right setup, plan, and knowledge.
